BLOG #2 YALAH FAGOTH MOLINA Reflection on the Change Makers of the 1700s      The Change Makers of the 1700s presentations were one of the most interesting assignments I completed this semester. The project allowed me to learn about important historical figures who influenced society through their ideas, leadership, and activism. It also gave me the chance to improve my research and public speaking skills. Even though I was nervous before presenting, I felt proud of my work once I finished.      For my part of the group presentation, I researched and presented Mary Wollstonecraft. Before starting this project, I had heard her name before, but I did not know much about her life or her accomplishments. As I researched her, I learned that she was one of the earliest advocates for women's rights and believed strongly that women should have the same educational opportunities as men. I found her story inspiring because she challenged the expectations o...

Liz's Presentation Blog

For my SPC class, my group did a presentation on public speaking, and my part specifically focused on Chapter 17, which was about special occasion speeches and group presentations. At first, I expected to feel nervous presenting in front of the class, but honestly, I felt pretty fine once it was time to speak. I think being prepared and understanding my topic helped me stay calm during the presentation.Chapter 17 was actually more interesting than I thought it would be. Before this class, I never really thought about how many different types of speeches people give in everyday life. The chapter talked about special occasion speeches like introduction speeches, acceptance speeches, toasts, roasts, after-dinner speeches, and public testimony. At first, these sounded simple, but once I started learning more about them, I realized they all serve different purposes and require different speaking styles. Some speeches are more formal, while others are more emotional, entertaining, or pe...

Traniya Theoc  Public speaking is a skill that many people struggle with, including me. Before beginning this project and presentation, I often felt nervous speaking in front of large groups of people. I worried about forgetting what I wanted to say, making mistakes, or being judged by others. However, completing this public speaking presentation helped me grow in confidence and taught me many important lessons about communication, preparation, and listening to others. Throughout the project, I learned that public speaking is not only about talking in front of people, but also about connecting with an audience and expressing ideas clearly and confidently. One of the biggest things I learned from this project was the importance ...

My experience during our first presentation Public speaking has always been something I find challenging. Speaking in front of a group can feel intimidating, especially when I am surrounded by unfamiliar people or feel as though all attention is directed toward me. I usually become much more comfortable once I have spent time around the people I am speaking with and have built a sense of familiarity and trust. In those situations, I feel less judged and more relaxed, which allows me to communicate more naturally. Because of this, presentations and speeches have often been one of the most difficult parts of school for me.  This presentation experience, however, felt different in a very positive way. One of the biggest reasons was the supportive environment created by my group. From the beginning, everyone was encouraging, cooperative, and respectful, which immediately reduced much of the anxiety I normally associate with presentations. Instead of feeling pressured, I felt like we we...

Nevaeh Anderson  5/27/2026                                                   My Experience On Our Presentation        Our lesson presentation was an experience filled with stress and pressure at first, but also relief once it was over especially seeing how well every group did with such little time to prepare. From the moment the assignment was introduced, everything felt rushed. It was only the first day of class, and instead of easing into the semester, we were immediately told that we had to teach a chapter, create slides, prepare a script, and present it on zoom. I walked into class in Tuesday thinking we would just go over the syllabus and get out early, but instead we were told that by Thursday at 8 am our entire lesson presentation had to be prepared and ready to present. That alone made the assignment feel overwhelming before we ev...

Thoughts on the Presentation

Rose Mazinna Nicolas   Th e presentation was very interestin g and enjoyable for me. I learned many new things about how speakers organize their ideas and communicate clearly with an audience. Before this lesson, I did not really understand that there were different patterns used in speeches. Now, I understand that organization is very importan t because it helps the audience follow the information more easily.   One part of the presentation that I enjoyed the most was learning about different organizational patterns. The chronological pattern was easy to understand because it explains events in the order they happen over time. I also liked the spatial pattern because it describes relationships between places and objects. The topical pattern was interesting because it divides a subject into smaller parts, which makes information clearer. I found the narrative pattern enjoyable because people naturally connect with stories, and stories make speeches more engagin...
Yalah Fagoth Reflection on Presentations This semester’s presentations about informative and persuasive speaking were honestly a lot more interesting than I expected. At first, I thought public speaking was mostly just standing in front of a class and reading information from slides, but after listening to everyone’s presentations, I realized there’s so much more to it. The presentations showed how communication can educate people, influence opinions, and even change the way people think or act. I actually enjoyed most of the presentations because many of them connected to real-life situations that we deal with every day. One of the topics I liked learning about the most was informative speaking from Chapter 13. Informative speaking focuses on teaching the audience and helping people understand a topic better. I realized that informative speeches are not supposed to persuade people or force opinions but instead focus on giving clear and organized information. I thought it was i...
